We are seeking a Senior Engineer/Project Manager (Water Resources) for our San Diego or Irvine offices. You will be providing a variety of professional civil engineering and water resources tasks. The position can be focused in either municipal water (water and sewer) OR riverine hydraulics/flood control/drainage depending on experience of the right candidate.
You will be performing engineering work and exercising independent judgment.
Essential Functions:
- Lead projects associated with water resources design and analyses
- Lead in business development and project management of projects
- Lead preparation of engineering analyses for potable water, sewer, recycled water, drainage, flood control, and agricultural irrigation systems
- Lead small teams comprised of engineers and planners to deliver projects
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordination with internal/external disciplines, utility companies, subconsultants and clients
- Train Associate, Assistant, and Intern Engineering staff
- Attend meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and address action items
- Perform quality control for reports/projects
- Lead marketing efforts
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field
- California Professional Civil Engineer license
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive water resources experience
- CA driver’s license
Other Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering a plus
- Strong connections with water agencies in northern California
- Strong understanding of basic and more complex water resources principles
- Stormwater Practitioner/Designer (QSP/D), Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), or other water resources or project management certifications a plus
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong technical writing and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

SENIOR ENGINEER (Water Resources)
Physical Requirements:
- Will sit, stand or walk for the entire duration of a workday
- Will use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a regular basis
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Work mostly indoors. Occasionally work outdoors in remote or urban environments
- Usually work near others, such as in a shared office space
- Occasionally wear protective gear, such as a hard hat
- Sometimes work in noisy or distracting work environments
- Occasionally travel to a project site by automobile and/or airplane
- Occasionally work from a vehicle while at project sites
FLSA Status: Full-Time Exempt
Compensation: Competitive salary ranging from $150,000+ commensurate with qualifications and experience
