Sharon Lumbreras is a Senior Drainage Engineer at T.Y. Lin International in the San Diego office. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Civil Engineering, with emphases in Hydrology and Water Resources from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her professional expertise is in H&H and water quality modeling, analysis, and design on over a hundred projects throughout Southern California.
Sharon has served as Director since 2020, but her first involvement with APWA started with the Internship Committee in 2018 where she digitized the application process which encouraged a record number of students and agencies/firms to participate. She served as the board liaison to the Young Professionals Committee from 2020 through 2023 and as the Interim YP Chair for a portion of the duration, and successfully revitalized the committee from a small team of three to over 10 active members. During the recent 2023 PWX in San Diego, Sharon served as part of the Host Committee as the Volunteers Committee Co-Chair.
Sharon is our chapter’s second graduate from the APWA Emerging Leaders Academy (ELA) Class XIII (2020)!
